Medical laboratory testing is considered the essence of modern medicine, and laboratory technicians are valuable allies to physicians. According to industry statistics, medical testing influences 70% of medical decisions, and nearly 100% of accurate medical decisions are based on test results.

The Medical Laboratory Technology program at Phan Chau Trinh University is designed to equip students with a solid foundation in medical laboratory technologies and techniques. The program combines the use of modern equipment and techniques with the application of theoretical knowledge to perform complex procedures on patient specimens. The tests and procedures conducted by medical laboratory technicians provide vital information that aids physicians in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patient conditions.

Phan Chau Trinh University aims to strive to become a high-quality medical workforce training institution with high technical expertise and comprehensive ethical qualities in the Central Highlands region to meet the healthcare demands of the local population and the country as a whole in the new context. In addition to the mission of training high-quality human resources, the university also aims to become a center for scientific research, development of technology, and application of advanced techniques in the field of healthcare, effectively contributing to the healthcare of the people and enhancing the quality and development of the medical industry in Vietnam.

The goal of the university is to integrate scientific research with clinical application. Therefore, right from the beginning, the Research and Applied Biomedical Technology Center (BMTC) was established. The center focuses on researching infectious diseases, drug-resistant bacteria in tuberculosis, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hepatitis B and C, gastric ulcers caused by H. pylori. Additionally, the center also conducts early detection tests for cervical cancer risks, prenatal testing, pharmacogenomics, parasite movement, and evaluates the effectiveness of stem cell therapy in the treatment of joint degeneration and diabetes through quantitative measurement of telomeres. All of these tests are performed using modern clinical laboratory methods and equipment provided by the center.

Therefore, students studying Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science at Phan Chau Trinh University not only learn and have access to new and updated testing methods but also actively participate in research alongside the professors at the BMTC Research Center.

With the advantage of the Institute-University training model, which includes a system of five existing hospitals, students studying the Medical Laboratory Science program at Phan Chau Trinh University have many benefits:

1. Practical training is designed to take place in hospitals, accounting for 70% of the curriculum. Students experience the hospital environment from the first year and gain extensive practical skills. Each lecturer guides a group of 5-6 students and is closely supervised by an independent inspection center. Graduates will be much more confident in their abilities.

2. The university's hospitals are currently expanding and increasing the number of hospital beds in the coming years. Therefore, graduates will be given priority in employment at the hospitals within the system. Additionally, with good skills, expertise, and proficiency in English, job opportunities for graduates will be wide open.

3. Students have the opportunity to experience different hospitals in various provinces such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Dong Thap, and Ho Chi Minh City.
