OVERVIEW
Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) has been granted permission by the Ministry of Education and Training to offer undergraduate training in the field of Dentistry according to Decision No. 2544/QD-BGDDT.
The passion of the university's administration is to bring about a true transformation in the image, position, and genuine value of the medical profession in society. The commitment to providing quality medical education at PCTU has been steadfast throughout the existence of the institution.
The mission and vision of PCTU are to produce a generation of Dentists who are exemplary in both knowledge and clinical skills, possess research capabilities, exhibit professional ethics, possess leadership skills, and serve as the core of future healthcare professionals.
With an educational philosophy of liberation and a training philosophy focused on adaptation to change, the university has developed an integrated training program with a practical internship component accounting for 70% of the curriculum. This approach ensures that students develop strong practical skills.
The university's training program is a well-researched fusion of the foundation program by the Ministry of Education and Training and the training programs of developed countries such as the United States and Australia. This integrated program allows PCTU medical students to easily access and stay updated with medical knowledge and achievements worldwide while still in their student years.
The strength of the university lies in its possession of a system of five dedicated hospitals even before medical training. As a result, students can start their internships as early as the first year, earlier than many other institutions. The internship period extends from the first year to the final year. Students have easy access to the hospitals, patient records for academic learning, and patient care to enhance and refine their skills. The doctors in these hospitals also serve as faculty members, ensuring consistency in the training program, content, teaching methods, and assessment.
Furthermore, for the Dentistry field, which requires extensive practical training, the university has invested in modern and fully equipped laboratory facilities to provide students with the opportunity to develop their professional skills, allowing them to graduate with confidence.
Specialized English language training is also emphasized and integrated from the first year of study.
