DENTAL BIOMECHANICS WORKSHOP AT PHAN CHAU TRINH UNIVERSITY

This morning (October 11th) at Phan Chau Trinh University, the Faculty of Dentistry successfully organized a dental seminar with the theme "Dental Biomechanics - Straight Wire Technique - Segmentation and Clinical Cases." The seminar was sponsored by ABC GROUP.

This topic attracted significant interest and participation from many Maxillofacial Surgeons in hospitals and major dental centers in the Central Highlands region. The content of this seminar focused on clinical cases of Class I malocclusion and Class II, III malocclusion (with or without tooth extraction), orthodontic treatment for adult patients (including traditional brackets, self-ligating brackets, lingual brackets in the advanced section), and addressing temporomandibular joint issues in orthodontic treatment. The main emphasis was on acquiring proficient manual skills in using the straight wire technique and wire bending technique - transitioning to the segmentation technique when necessary - to enhance the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Vittorio Cacciafesta is renowned as an esteemed orthodontic specialist from Italy. Currently, he serves as an associate clinical professor at the Orthodontic Department of the University of Pavia, Italy. He has also been a member of the research society at the Orthodontic Department of Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. Dr. Vittorio's current clinical interests include lingual orthodontics in adults, biomechanical principles, and interventional treatment.

Dr. Vittorio's presentation was translated by Dr. Tran The Tho, the Secretary General of the Vietnam Association Orthodontic (VAO) and the Vietnam Society of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in Ho Chi Minh City (HAO). Dr. Tho is also a faculty member of the Department of Orthodontics at Phan Chau Trinh University.

Dr. Le Van Ha, the Head of the Department of Orthodontics at Hospital C in Da Nang, commented, "Dr. Vittorio brought a very insightful topic and introduced many new techniques at the seminar." He and the other attending doctors expressed their desire for the university to organize more seminars in the future, providing orthodontists with opportunities to access, learn, and share their experiences.
