Prof. Nguyen Chan Hung

Professor Doctor Nguyen Chan Hung was born in 1944 in Tien Giang. He graduated as a Doctor from Saigon Medical University in 1970. In 1972, he obtained a National Doctor of Medicine degree. In 1992, he was appointed Associate Professor of Medicine. And in 2006, he was appointed Professor of Medicine.

Since 1976, Professor Nguyen Chan Hung has held the position of Head of the Oncology Department of Binh Dan Hospital. In 1990, he held the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital. From this time, he worked both as a doctor and as a teacher - Head of the Oncology Department cum Practical Surgery of Ho Chi Minh City University of Pharmacy and later Head of the Oncology Department of Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University. In 2000, he was elected Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Cancer Society. From 2010-2022, he was the Chairman of the Vietnam Cancer Association and the Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Oncology.

From the accumulated knowledge, experience, and passion for the profession, Professor Nguyen Chan Hung has over 100 research topics in Medical Science and a number of Oncology textbooks, and many cancer popularization books. such as Clinical Oncology published in 1982, Medical Oncology published in 1984, Early curable Cancer published in 2013, Handbook of cancer prevention published in 2013, Depth of Life published in 2015, reprinted in 2022.

Professor has made great contributions in the process of starting and developing Phan Chau Trinh University, the University Council decided to award him the title of Honorary Rector in February 2023.
