Professor Le Van Cuong graduated as a Medical Doctor from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1979, majoring in Anatomy. In 1991, he received his PhD, after which he was nominated as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Since 1998, he has been Deputy Head of the Department of Surgery at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. In 2004, he was also Head of Scientific Research Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. In 2013, he was awarded the title of Professor of Medicine.
In addition to teaching anatomy, Professor Le Van Cuong also participates in surgical examination and treatment at major hospitals such as Binh Dan Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Here, he took on the job of clinical instructor for medical students. He was also a Professor instructing medical graduate students and postgraduate residents of medical schools or large hospitals in the city HCMC and domestic.
With his dedication to scientific research, Professor Le Van Cuong has received many high awards from valuable state-level research projects such as the application of scientific and technological advances in early diagnosis and treatment. gallstone disease in 2006, or a ministerial-level project on researching the chemical composition of kidney stones, gallstones and related factors in 1999. Professor Le Van Cuong is also the editor of 5 Anatomy books, 4 Surgical lecture book series and participated in compiling many books in the field of anatomy and surgery.
On April 15, 2024, the Council of Phan Chau Trinh University signed the Decision to appoint Prof. Dr. Le Van Cuong to hold the position of Provost of Phan Chau Trinh University for the term 2021 - 2026.
