Its education philosophy is “students at the center”, to reach the goal of high quality medical students, becoming good and generous practitioners after graduating, with the clinical and research abilities. The education philosophy at Phan Chau Trinh University is to invest into making changes.
•    Training programs are based on the foundation program of the Ministry of Education & Training, and medical training programs of developed countries like the US and Australia. Such a combination will help PCTU medical students easily approach and update world medical knowledge as well as achievements right when they are still students.
•    The professors and Doctors of Medicine from Vietnam and other countries in PCTU are lecturers with a lot of experience in teaching medicine, both in theories and clinical practises. They are the key and powerful resources of medical expertise in the university. Lecturers are willing to convey to students their emotional and professional experiences, as well as valuable researches during their practitioner-lecturer lifetime, and students will be the leader in studying.
•    Medical students at Phan Chau Trinh University can approach hospitals right at the beginning of their courses, not waiting for two or three years. This helps increasing students practise time to be 70% to 80% of their six years studying. Not many universities can provide this combined mechanism of clinic + school, which has long been the model of medical teaching in advanced countries.
•    Teaching equipment and tools help transferring knowledge. Curriculum is invested to become suitable, so that students can research anytime and anywhere, like e-libraries, online curriculum, anatomy and basic medicine software applications, modern clinical skills.
•    English is considered by the University as the main language for teaching and learning. The direct English communication is of utmost importance in medical environment.
•    Multi-cultural and multi-color teaching environment, fairness in study and at work, this is also the concern of the University, helping graduated students to be able to work anywhere, in any country, which means PCTU is capable of recruiting international students.

Career prospects

At any time in history, medicine is always an outstanding career that captivates the world.

Medicine is an applied science field about the art of curing, consisting of many methods of health care to promote maintenance, and physical and mental recovery, from prevention to cure. Modern medicine applies health science knowledge, with biomedical and medical researches to diagnose and cure illnesses by medicine, surgery or a variety of other therapeutic methods.

Although medicine technologies and specialization have become the foundation of modern medicine, the direct contact between doctors and patients is still effective in reducing illness and pain, so we still need to perform more of that, by caring about human emotion and compassion in general.

The medical training program of PCTU will equip students with a strong foundation of biology and medicine knowledge, to solve the problems in examining and treatment. It will ensure that students can approach the latest medical technology achievements in the world. The program is practical, suitable with the economy, society and people of Vietnam and other countries. The program also provides students with knowledge about work ethics specific to medicine.

With the expertise and soft skills, along with good foreign language and IT levels to meet the real need of society, medical students of PCTU can work at clinics, public and private hospitals, domestic and foreign, research institutes and non-governmental organizations. They can also work as medical lecturers or science research experts, etc.

With the training philosophy, goal and strategy of Phan Chau Trinh University, medical students will earn prospects to work at high quality clinics in and out of the country after graduating. The prospect will multiply if students thrive to study and practise during their course.

The ability to study for self-improve

After graduating, students will have good scientific knowledge and practical skills. They can also learn the degrees of Resident Doctor, 1st Degree Specialist, 2nd Degree Specialist, Master of Medicine, and Doctor of Medicine.

Admission requirements

In 2018, PCTU recruits students for the degree of GP doctors. PCTU’s educational goal aims at quality, forming a generation of medical elites, highly capable of working in any situation and anywhere that they are needed. Therefore the admissions criteria for learning and teaching are also heavily invested, from combining curricula of developed countries to establishing suitable teaching infrastructure, such that graduates will have the ability to work in the highest medical environment. A team of talented Professors and Doctors of Medicine, both domestic and foreign, will be lecturers to serve the philosophy “students at the centre”, students must be pro-active in learning, and lecturers will provide guidance, setting up the cases for students. Another new advantage that hardly any other medical university can have, is that PCTU medical students get the hospital environment very early in their training, not withholding till the second or third year, which helps the practise time of medical students reaching 70% to 80% of all their study time. That is thanks to the co-operation of Phan Chau Trinh University and Tam Tri Hospital chain all over the country. The theories taught at PCTU will be illustrated right at the hospital at the same time, that practising along with good English skill will help students quickly obtain a high aggregated ratio between clinic and theory training, and PCTU medical students will become talented and self-confident doctors when graduating.
