A Vietnamese girl nominated for a Nobel Prize
She is the only Vietnamese native to draft and promote a special Law on the Rights of Victims of Rape (Sexual Assault Survivors' Rights Act). The law received full federal approval, including 437 congressmen, 100 federal MPs, and eventually the President. She then campaigned for each state, across 32 states, to get approval from each state government. This law has the influence of supporting more than 85 million people. Not stopping there, she is the founder and also the general manager of Rise Now, a startup organization for organizations-concerned about social issues. This organization helps those who want to push the social issues they care about through complex nooks and crannies to become law. Rise Now has the financial support of the most financially capable figures on the planet, including Mr. Mark Zuckerberg and Mr. Bill Gates.
Many of the world's leading leaders concerned with human rights have invited Amanda Nguyen as advisors and speakers on human rights issues for women. Celebrities, from top politicians, billionaires, prime ministers, royals, to screen celebrities, music, and art, all want a connection with her. She has been invited to interview on famous talk shows and is an honorary guest to major events such as the Oscar and Emmy shows.
Amanda was born in October 1991, the child of Ms. Tăng Ngọc Lan and Mr. Nguyễn Minh Tú. Since childhood, Amanda has shown an intelligent quality, always striving, and has a different heart. Her mother recounted that when pregnant with her, her mother blew into her pregnancy great wishes to contribute to society. To get to know her better, to know her mother, who gave up her entire life supporting her daughter, helped shape her who she is. Amanda grew up in love and used to giving herself to society.
When Amanda was born, Amanda did not cry, as if she showed the courage to see life with curious eyes. Later, she showed courage and willpower throughout her life's journey. In elementary school, she showed a natural talent for public contact. Since first grade, she boldly addressed a crowd and assumed many leadership positions in the school. She participates in a lot of volunteer work. According to her, she volunteered to gain more life experience, help and understand more about what people need, so that she can later improve her level of help, from housework, hospital, political office, to the school environment. She used to raise funds for the Vietnamese American Cancer Society of Dr. Bich Lien. After this, she effectively used her social experiences as a student.
Upon entering high school, Amanda held several positions in the Future Trade Leadership organization. She was elected president of the All-California Future of Trade Leadership (FBLA) for the 2008-2009 term. FBLA is the largest and most influential global organization for outstanding students in business. The event was elected as the FBLA president of the largest state in America at the age of 16, demonstrating Amanda's leadership, knowledge, and maturity.
Amanda graduated from high school at Centennial, Corona, California in 2009. Most famous schools such as Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, Berkeley, UPenn… let her in. In the end, she chose Harvard - with two subjects, politics and astrophysics. This is the school she has always dreamed of. In her room, there was a small blackboard. She wrote on the board a reminder that she had to make it into Harvard. Every morning she woke up, she looked at the board to remind herself. During his time at Harvard, Amanda excelled and versatile in learning, creating, and constructing many impressive studies. She made a name for herself in Harvard history, when she created a class of slavery today, an unprecedented event. Her essay was selected to be published in volume 50 of Harvard entrance examination. At the age of 19, she chose to go to Bangladesh, a impoverished country that not even a toilet does. Amanda must go to the fields, helping women who have no voice. There, she struggled in danger, overcoming local custom and language to court a man who killed a Bangladeshi girl after raping a victim.
Amanda also co-founded the Wema Orphanage in Kenya, Africa, while she volunteered there for social work. She practices science at NASA with the mission of tracking foreign objects close to Earth. She also used social media to solicit youth support for NASA. She was selected as a collaborator at the Harvard-Smithsonian space science and later became a team leader of student interns in the White House. In particular, she was selected to intern at Morgan Stanley, a famous finance company, although she did not study finance. In 2013, she graduated. "I have to live!"
She has boundless love and gratitude towards her parents. In order not to forget her Vietnamese origin, she improved her Vietnamese language herself. Her mother still remembers that it was September 6, 2011. Her parents were invited to visit the White House, where she was accepted as a student intern. When she went out to meet her parents, she suddenly told them to wait a little. Then she ran inside, and after a while, handing her parents a letter written in Vietnamese. A letter expressing gratitude to parents. The last paragraph reads: “There is not a day when I do not thank God for blessing me. No one is as happy as you when you make your parents proud. I love you so much. Amanda ”.
Amada Nguyen achieved miraculous success thanks to many factors. Extensive vision, passion for work, enthusiastic in protecting fairness, always improving herself to achieve her dream, but most importantly, it is her extreme will to overcome obstacles and limitations. ordinary people. In addition, it is impossible not to mention the comprehensive support of her parents, who have built the natural foundation and will of her social commitment.
Thanks to the effort and friction of early life through volunteering and outside school activities, Amanda has grown up much more than her peers. Not a bit of time went by that she wasted. When she was 16 years old, she suffered from a heart disorder (Superventricular Tachycardia) and thought to die. She had to sit in a wheelchair for many months. However, not so that she let go of her path. Before the anesthesia performed her heart surgery, the doctor asked what she wanted to say. She spoke with determination and optimism: "I have to live - I have to live"!
